The Black Keys featured in the newest issue of Spin Magazine

Posted by MagMall

There is a fantastic article in the newest issue of SPIN Magazine about the Black Keys’ latest tour in support of their amazing new album El Camino which includes some great private backstage photos of the band in cities such as Washington, DC, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cleveland and Manchester, England.  There is also an article on how Bill Ward, drummer of the original Black Sabbath, is no longer going to be touring with the band due to some business disputes, unfortunately.

The magazine just recently changed formats with a larger, bi-monthly look and seems to be even more informative and colorful than ever before.  The new look is quite futuristic and appealing to the eye and will, most likely, cause this great music magazine (founded in 1985) to sell even more copies!  More power to them, I say!

This magazine has been a constant joy in my life since I started buying it in the mid-1980′s (I still own the second issue!) and is highly recommended by this music fan!  Onwards and upwards!

Discover Magazine says that Yawning Dogs are influenced by their Owners

Posted by MagMall

In the newest issue of Discover Magazine, there is a wonderful article about how dogs that yawn are completely influenced by watching their own owners yawning.  There was a recent study done about the subject and, at the end of the study, twelve of the twenty-nine dogs that were studied had yawned – which means that man’s best friend seems to empathize with people that they are familiar with.  Interesting, isn’t it?

All of us have been in rooms where a yawning person may cause a few others in the same room to react with a “yawning” spell themselves, but who would have thought that a dog could have the same reaction?  The interesting thing is that the dogs who had owners that yawned were themselves yawning four times more than a person that yawned that they didn’t recognize.

This interesting yawning study could mean that dogs empathize more with human beings that they interact with on a daily basis rather than a stranger that just happens to yawn in front of them.  This could prove that humans will always have a friend to rely on if they don’t have other humans around!

Newsweek Magazine article on Al Queda’s Body Bombs

Posted by MagMall

In the newest issue of Newsweek Magazine, there is a frightening article on Al Queda’s newest attempt to attack the US – with body bombs.  A double agent (who was working for both Al Queda and the USA) was able to penetrate and get ahold of the newest technology that terrorists have been using to try to attack America.  These bombs are somehow surgically implanted inside the bodies of want-to-be terrorists and has been designed by one of the most wanted men on the planet – Ibrahim Al-Asiri.

This so-called bomb is described as a “surgically implanted improvised explosive device” and cannot be detected by the normal security devices that are now in place in the world’s airports.  This horrible technology is being used in countries such as Yemen, were Al Queda still have a stranglehold on the country.  Hopefully, with the technology that both the US and the rest of the world have in place, there will be future ways to detect and stop these bombs from exploding and to safe the innocents from being killed or injured by these dastardly evil humans.

I’m just hoping that the Al Queda terrorists that are hiding in Yemen, Mali, the north of Nigeria, Algeria and in Libya are killed or captured before they can give birth to even more insane evil doing.  One can only wish for the best!

Men’s Fitness Magazine article on how to prevent bowel cancer with curry ingredient

Posted by MagMall

There is a wonderfully eye-opening article in the newest issue of Men’s Fitness Magazine about how to prevent bowel cancer from an ingredient found in curry – which is usually found in Indian or Thai food.  Curcumin is the ingredient and it has been known to be helpful for both stroke and dementia patients.  The ingredient has also helped kill cancer cells in the laboratory in a very efficient manner.

Curcumin enhances the effectiveness of the standard treatment by making the cancer cells a lot more sensitive to chemotherapy which is fantastic since it would allow doctors to use much smaller doses of chemotherapy drugs and also reduces the debilitating side-effects that usually come with the chemotherapy treatment.  This is definitely some very positive news!

You can find out more information on these sort of health articles by purchasing a magazine subscription to Men’s Fitness Magazine and  you will start receiving each and every issue in the comfort of your own home.  For more information, visit our website if you wish to place a subscription.   There are tons of other articles on fitness routines and foods to eat to make you feel and look even healthier!

The Atlantic Monthly magazine reviews a self-driven Toyota Prius

Posted by MagMall

There is an amazing article in the newest issue of The Atlantic Monthly regarding self-driven cars that will soon be on the marketplace.  The amazing vehicle happens to be a Toyota Prius built by Google, according to the magazine and it’s a wonder to watch it on the roads.

Apparently, this vehicle is the safest vehicle on the road since every car that drives near it has a tendency to honk at it due to it being “super safe” and because it automatically follows all safety rules and drives regular drivers crazy due to this.  Having a nice magazine subscription to The Atlantic Monthly will help in finding out about amazing technologies such as this.  Incredibly enough,  the state of Nevada has given this amazing self driving car its own driver’s license!

I mean wow!  So far, there has been only one car accident from all of these prototypes that have been built and it was caused, insanely enough, by human error.  Ouch!  So, remember to pick up this magazine and subscribe to it so that you don’s miss out on future articles on upcoming technologies.

The Atlantic Monthly magazine is a timeless classic worth subscribing to

Posted by MagMall

Since it was founded in 1857, The Atlantic Monthly has been one of the USA’s most thought-provoking magazines available.  With consistently award-winning articles on politics, education, literature and the arts, The Atlantic Monthly is one of the most important magazines being published and is able to change minds through their (mostly) unbiased reporting and respect for well known facts.  This is not a magazine for those who currently feel they are well enough informed from the current crop of “news-tainment” programs, talking heads and mouthpieces found on the air waves today.

In The Atlantic Monthly you’ll find in-depth, critical analysis and intelligent literature.  Recently there has usually been one full length article related to an issue in the Middle East each month, which should be expected with current events, but the content varies significantly within each issue that you won’t feel overwhelmed. There are regular sections and columns ranging from travel to book reviews to fiction to a “post mortem” profiling some notable world figure who has recently passed away.

All in all, The Atlantic Monthly is your best source for honesty and integrity in the news in comparison to the rest of the magazines being published that deal in the same subject matter.   Being a reader of this fantastic magazine for more than two decades, I’m still astounded at the amazing quality of writing that goes into each and every issue.

Car and Driver Magazine is the cat’s meow!

Car and Driver Magazine is an excellent source of information for the auto enthusiast. Covering every type of automobile on the road, including cars, pickups, vans, and sport-utility vehicles, both foreign and domestic, Car and Driver Magazine road tests every model and then describes its performance in an objective yet entertaining way to the reader. In addition to car reviews, each issue gives you the news about the latest technology, and developments in the industry and in politics that affect the automobile business. Also included are articles on motorsports and important personalities.

Car and Driver was founded as Sports Cars Illustrated in 1955. In its early years, the magazine focused primarily on small, imported sports cars.  In 1961, editor Karl Ludvigsen renamed the magazine Car and Driver to show a more general automotive focus. 2005 marked the 50th anniversary of Car and Driver .  Car and Driver Magazine is not only the best automobile magazine on the market, but is also the best selling one in the world.

The Best Woodworking Magazine on the Planet is Fine Woodworking

Posted by MagMall

Of all the periodicals and magazines I’ve ever read, there is no doubt the “Fine Woodworking” is the best of all. It is superior to some very good competitors. The competition, however, just never measures up to the consistency and creativity that this magazine has to offer.

When I started at this wonderful hobby, I was a true novice. I knew nothing at all. Even though I was just beginning to learn the very basics of woodworking, having taken a couple of community college courses, a professor made a personal suggestion that I subscribe to a really good woodworking magazine-for a number of really important reasons. I’m the type of guy who wants to spend his money on the best, rather than waste money on a more affordable competitors that don’t deliver the same sort of quality that I’ve come to expect.

So I subscribed to “Fine Woodworking” and it was one of the better decisions I’ve ever made-regarding a purchase of this type. The magazine is so good that I took the time to actually place them in binders so I could keep them all in great shape and also so I could reference them at anytime in the future.

I started as a total novice and started to learn great techniques with my very first issue. As time passed and as I became more and more proficient, I felt like no matter what level I was at, “Fine Woodworking” always had great information for me to learn from.

So it doesn’t matter whether you’re at the very beginning of this great journey into woodworking or if you’re on your 200th project from ideas you picked up on from the magazine, I guarantee you that each and every issue will have something in it that will seem perfect just for you.

INC Through Business Magazine Subscriptions is a Great Investment for You

Posted by MagMall

INC. is a definite must as far as business magazine subscriptions are concerned. It offers plenty of practical information for the entrepreneur and small business owner, as well as anyone who is interested in business. Unlike other business magazines that contain articles that are long and ponderous, INC. doesn’t waste your time with tedium. INC provides a thorough and interesting overview of the advances being made in all sectors by small business owners from throughout
the country. The magazine provides essential updates on technology that will help your business grow. It provides thoughtful stories about individuals who solve the same problems you’re likely to encounter as you grow your business.

I like INC magazine because it’s just right for a business owner who runs almost any kind or size of business. It’s not focused on one set of things like technology even though it does have technological tips.  It’s not a magazine trying to sell you other businesses.  It actually gives you sound and productive advice. It gives you ideas that are applicable in the real world and on the forefront so you can be ahead of your competitors. The language is practical enough to be understood by beginning business owners and those who have plenty of experience in the business world. I’ve tried other business magazines but the others either have too much advertising, focus on one subject (like investments, stocks, etc), try to do nothing but sell you other franchises and other services, or are only useful to a narrow set of business models. Try this one out and you’ll definitely benefit and enjoy the read.

INC advertises itself as “The Handbook of the American Entrepreneur.” Each issue offers anecdotal lessons from business leaders across a broad spectrum of industries and topics. I generally read it cover to cover to be sure that I do not miss anything of value. I find it a worthwhile read for times which call for an accessible intellectual challenge. One might even call it the “People” of entrepreneurs.
